Our Favourite Cotswold Christmas Guide

With only two weeks until Christmas, we are sending you a helping hand to streamline your Christmas shopping with our curated selection of gift ideas for 2024.

Sometimes it’s hard to think of new ideas but, to be honest, there are some gifts that ladies always love receiving and, usually, they are the ones that they would love to buy for themselves but always seem at little indulgent. Whether it be a fabulous perfume, some luxury cashmere, a piece of jewellery, designer cosmetics, skincare or stylish homewares, we have it covered. Not all the most thoughtful gifts have to be the most expensive either. It’s also nice to consider buying some of the gifts from smaller businesses who need the support as well as more well-known brands. We have put together a selection of our personal favourites.

Some fabulous new pj's are always a win at Christmas, there are so many different choices available from The White Company who have the most stunning silk versions, if you are looking for a little luxury, to fun small independent online brands like the Pajama Pantry who offer some super fun prints.

A designer lipstick always feels like a treat every time you use it; a little indulgence in your make up bag. Chanel is a great choice for a gift, prices range between £36-£40, they also come beautifully gift wrapped.

No winter wardrobe is complete without a luxury piece of cashmere. Of course, we are going to choose Arkell & Wills! We have gorgeous cashmere beanies starting at £40 and some fabulous sweaters, perfect for Christmas Day or New Year’s Day racing, starting at just £154. Fancy getting a boozy bottled gift for someone? We love supporting local businesses and where we are based in the Cotswolds there are some fantastic, family-run companies such as Copper Lion for some delicious gins or whisky from the Cotswold Distillery. All can be perfect bases for some delicious Christmas cocktails.

A piece of jewellery is always a winner at Christmas. Whether it's real or costume, there is something special about opening a tiny gift box on Christmas Day. There are so many brands to choose from, selling fabulous pieces but for that extra special gift, how about something personalised? Monica Vinader is a personal favourite with a range of prices and metal finishes available across earrings, necklaces and bracelets, and they engrave on certain pieces as well to make it extra special.  A wonderful independent jewellery business in the Cotswolds, can be found in Northleach, Francesca Rossi Designs . Francesca designs all the pieces herself, and many can be personalised.

Gifts for the home, you can find some amazing things at reasonable prices from some amazing brands selling homewares in the Cotswolds. Everyone loves a beautifully scented candle as a gift and The Cotswold Candle Company has a gorgeous collection. Each candle is individually hand poured with UK sourced ingredients, stunning scents and is beautifully packaged. With candles starting at £24 and diffusers at £30, Polly has that perfect Christmas gift.

A fun favourite is a lingerie brand called Stripe & Stare, born, and bred in the UK and founded by two women (just like Arkell & Wills!)  Their collection uses a fabric sustainably sourced from Austria and made from Beechwood trees, scientifically proven to be 3 x softer than cotton. The packaging is fun, the colours are great, and they have underwear to fit any body shape.
